DCHL Power Rankings
Power Rankings as of 3/12/08
30. Tampa Bay (23) - Something went terribily wrong with the Will's rebuilding project in Tampa. After a horrifying last sim and a fire sale of his whole team, rumor has it Will be asked to step down and could be looking for a new team next season.
29. Edmonton (21) - From the verge of a playoff bearth down to the basement. Injuries killed Sam's chances and he has already thrown in the towel for this year and is looking towards season 11. As long as Sam can stay away from the porn sites this off season he should have a good time to rebuild.
28. Colorado (26) - The ruins of BCS still haunt the Aves GM. Got to give this guy a lot of credit for sticking with this team and once again looking to make a big splash come draft and free agent time. Maybe the GM can learn from this season's mistakes in his rebuilding next year.
27. Anaheim (29) - Baby steps...? Too late in the season for that approach to work you into a playoff spot. At least the ducks aren't the worst in the west anymore.
26. Montreal (30) - Baby steps...? Too late in the season for that approach to work you into a playoff spot. At least the habs aren't the worst in the east anymore. Clay might spend the offseason kicking himself after he traded away Tampas 1st rounder (the likely 1st overall pick) for a moldy meatball sub.
25. Toronto (22) - Joe better turn down the power setting on his hair dryer or he will blow the leafs into dead last.
24. St. Louis (25) - The owner was going to call Will and beg him to come back as team GM, but not after the last sim. At least they Iginal to keep them out of the basement.
23. Boston (28) - Made a good showing last sim, but the tank is gonna run out of gas before the bruins can sneak into a playoff spot.
22. New Jersey (15) - Ray hasn't been seen since some lewd photos of him appeared a few weeks ago. If you see Ray you are asked to contact the authorities, Ray is to be considered armed, but his team is certainly not to be considered dangerous.
21. Minnesota (27) - Eric is making a nice push comming down the stretch. Might be the ugly chick at prom... but I think we all remember how the movie Carrie ended.
20. Chicago (12) - The hawks are sliding downhill fast! Is it due to Ian's lack of trading? The players protesting the removal of their once loved GM Jim? Or the fact that Ian is Sam's roommate and spending a little too much time on certain website?
19. Dallas (11) - I was expecting a bit more from the Stars this year. They slid but were still right on the door step. However a massive pile of injuries heading into the stretch might keep the Stars out of the playoffs this year.
18. Ottawa (17) - The Isles should be watching the Sens closely! Might be able to have some success with little involment with your team, but eventually every idel team, just like an idel car will run out of gas.
17. Washington (20) - The caps continute to keep everyone rather impressed and might even sneak into the playoffs... somehow they just might...
16. Flordia (16) - Number is holding his own and has a good shot of making the playoffs.
15. Vancouver (13) - Lax continues to hold onto 8th by a hair. He hasn't made any moves which could be a good or bad thing with three other teams within a game of knocking him out.
14. NY Rags (10) - DC must be happy that the Rags stay heathly and stay in the playoff hunt. As long as Jagar stays out of mischief for another few weeks DC should be playoff bound.
13. Phoenix (19) - This year's sleeper team is really starting to wakeup and make a move into the western playoff picture.
12. Detoit (18) - Well these guys arent the NHL redwings... but they are still holding onto a DCHL playoff spot... for now at least.
11. San Jose (07) - Nate's team seems lost and confused. That isn't a good thing this time of year. Hopefully Nate can control his team before they get lost right out the playoffs.
10. Atlanta (08) - Rumor on Thorton's concussion puts Forsberg and a lead pipe in the vacinity at the time. Hopefully ankle boy can hold up the Thrashers better then his own legs. Thorton's lengthy injury will put Matt in a dangerous spot heading down the stretch.
09. Philly (24) - Dan gets his players healthy and WOW. 30 out of 38 possibile points last sim. Good for dan, but let's not hope this streak keeps going for too much longer.
08. Columbus (04) - Not really sure how the jackets are doing this good... but they are right in the top in the west.
07. Los Angeles (14) - Chris finally found something to spark the Kings into winning some games. Right in the thick of things for a top spot in the west.
06. Pittsburgh (02) - Mike struggeled a lot last sim. Is this a bump in the road or a sign of things to come?
05. Nashville (09) - Kovolchuck is scoring goals like thier is no tomorrow and is putting the Preds higher and higher in the standinds. Let's hope they fair a bit better in the playoffs this year.
04. NY Isles (05) - I just don't know how the Isles keep winning. I mean it... How do they keep winning?
03. Carolina (06) - You would think after the success Pudge has had this season keeping his team together he would hold off on trading. But basic instinct set in and pudge realizes he needs to make about 30 trades this week to win trigger happy.
02. Calgary (01) - Bob keeps rolling, but now he is down Nash. Does Bob have the depth to hold off the stampeding teams in the west without Nash for the next month? My sources say No.
01. Buffalo (03) - The Sabres are rolling thanks mainly to one man, Timmy Connolly who racked up 36 points in just 19 games last sim. Might be the only team from the Northeast to make the playoffs this year.
- Biggest Drop: Edmonton (21 to 29), Chicago (12 to 20), Dallas (11 to 19)
- Biggest Jump: Philly (24 to 09)
